I'm back from the lovely city of San Diego, California!
I have to say...all you Californians are quite lucky, because I'm pretty obsessed with your state!
San Diego was absolutely beautiful. We landed on Thursday night around 9:00 p.m. Um, I'm not sure if this happens anywhere else, but landing in San Diego is SO scary because the city is extremely close to the airport...literally, buildings surround the plane as you are landing.
Our hotel was very nice. We woke up and had room service (very classy and VERY expensive...oops).
Then, we headed to the world-famous San Diego Zoo. I wasn't that excited because zoos don't really thrill me, but this zoo was out of this world. It was incredible and I had a great time. My favorite animals were the koala bears, the panda bears and the orangutans! The orangutans were SO hilarious. We watched them for literally thirty minutes.
After the zoo, the PR conference I was attending officially began. Over the course of three days I attended various sessions on entertainment PR, health care PR, social media, travel and tourism PR and much, much more. It was all a bit overwhelming, but I learned a lot. I was a little disappointed because the people there were not very friendly, but I did learn a lot, and that's all that matters.
I also got a chance to hang out in the Gas Lamp District which is popular for its nightlife and restaurants. We found it to be very expensive, so we just grabbed dinner and one drink there.
On Sunday, we were able to walk around Seaport Village which was absolutely adorable. There were many shops and outdoor musicians with lots of people just wandering around on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
I wish I had more time to explore the area and I would LOVE to visit LA, but I was mostly there for business (how weird is that to say?!) this time.
Overall, it was a great trip and a nice break from "real life." I'll be back to reading and commenting very soon! Can't wait to catch up on my reader!
Have any of you ever visited San Diego or anywhere in California? What did you think?

So glad to hear you liked it - a lot! :) California is home to me. A few years ago I moved to Europe, back to where I was born and half way raised. ;) I miss CA a lot (daily to be exact), Los Angeles area and Ventura county the most! So, I do understand every single thing you said and why you liked it. :) Great pictures!!!!
I've lived in California for 3 years and I still haven't been to San Diego. It's at the top of my list, though.
I have not been to San Diego but would love to go sometime! Love all your pictures, glad you had such a good time. :)
I have been all over CA and I love it. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Although after getting used to Indiana prices, everything there seems astronomically expensive!
damn if san diego isn't one of my favorite places ever on the earth. :) the airport is scary, but i flew into it four times one month... so i think i got used to it. :)
you have to go back to do LA and la jolla and all of the other awesomeness that southern cali has to offer. :) i'm so glad you had a little bit of fun on your business trip!!
When my family went to disneyland in 2006 we drove down to San Diego for the day and I LOVED it!! The zoo was awesome but I REALLY loved Seaworld. Can't wait to go back one day!
Sounds & looks like you had a great time! I visited the San Diego Zoo before, it is awesome! :) When we went to Los Angeles we also took a tour of Warner Brother Studio's which was really cool. I haven't been to California since 1996 though!
When I went to Vegas a few years ago, my family drove over to L.A. We didn't get to explore much because it was raining, but I'd like to go back sometime. I'm glad you enjoyed the trip!
Sounds like fun! Welcome back!
ooo you can come to orange county and stay w/me!
(its that county between san diego and LA).
i might kidnap you though, since i'm on the lookout for some new friends...trust me, i'm not psycho...just a little on the crazy side ; )
As a student nurse, I love that statue too! We have a shirt with that photo that says "What happens in clinical, stays in clincal"
Aww, I'm so glad to hear that the trip went well! I've never been to California, but my cousin and her husband live outside of L.A., and I definitely am going to visit them soon!
Fun!! :)
I've never been to the west coast, but my boyfriend wants to go soon! I have family that live in the Redwoods so I definitely need to visit!
Love your post and so glad that you had a great time visiting San Diego. Great picture in front of the statue too! If you ever make it back down feel free to check out events and visitor information on our website at http//www.SanDiego.org.
